Estelle Dawes did a B.Comm degree at the University of Stellenbosch (many moons ago), joined the mining industry as company secretary and later as finance and administrative manager, worked for 23 years at BHPBilliton in Johannesburg. During that time, she led a building project to produce 6 schools and 3 clinics for Nelson Mandela, in the poverty stricken remote areas of South Africa.
She immigrated to Australia 10 year ago and maintains she is still a tourist, with her husband Ian and son Jack. She joined the not-for-profit sector, first at the South West Aboriginal Land & Sea Council, then Diabetes Australia and finally Ngala Community Services as Director Corporate Services. After a short stint at the WA Department for Culture and the Arts as Finance Business Manager, she joined the CET in June 2011.
Estelle is also a board member of 2 not-for-profit organisations: FPWA here in Perth and Connecting Up Australia in Adelaide.
