The Business School at UWA (UWABS) has a reputation for teaching and research excellence in business, including courses in resource sector economics, mineral finance and strategic management of resources companies.
The UWA Business School offers both flexible and full-time MBA study opportunities to resources sector professionals. Prestigious scholarships include a range of study awards offered by BHP Billiton, the world’s largest mining company.
In recent years UWA Business School has further developed its reputation as a premier provider of graduate management education.
Both core courses in the MBA and electives draw upon business cases from the resources industry. The MBA qualification enables resources sector professionals to augment their technical knowledge with an appreciation of the economic, finance and business strategy frameworks through which industry decision-making takes place. Graduates take up roles in the resources industry directly, in resources-related services sectors such as management consulting and investment banking.
Most MBA participants on the flexible MBA program already hold mid-career roles, many in the resource and energy sector. Typically, course participants use the MBA to prepare for career development into more senior management, decision-making and even board-level roles.
The flexible MBA program is purposely designed to provide study pathways to cater for busy professionals endeavouring to balance work and study commitments, including many working on a fly-in-fly-out basis.
