The Gold System Theme’s vision is to be a research group in gold mineral systems that is a worldwide recognised leader by both industry and academia, with a mission to resolve pure and applied geoscientific problems at multiple scales from craton to deposit-scale, with a focus on working within an integrated mineral systems framework to improve exploration success rates in both brownfields and greenfields environments.The Gold System Theme Leaders are Research Professor John Miller and Research Assistant Professor Nicolas Thebaud.
The Gold System focuses on:
- The greenstone and sediment hosted Archean and Proterozoic gold systems of Australia,
and the Birimian in West Africa. - South American gold systems inboard of the main Andean Cordillera.
- Gold systems in collisional zones in China.
