This will be achieved by uncovering value in the exploration/mining sector by marrying geological criteria with financial considerations through advanced financial modelling and risk analysis.
Their objectives are a sustainable research group that supports financially optimal decision-making in the exploration/mining sector by focussing on:
- semi-quantitative assessment of geological risk;
- development of methodologies for estimating the Real Options Value (ROV) associated with mineral investment opportunities;
- assessment of Risk Tolerance (RT) and its relationship with investment behaviour;
- risk management through the identification and optimisation of factors that affect exploration success; and
- development and maintenance of selected databases critical to the success of the industry.
