Constanza is from Concepción, Chile, where she got her Geology degree at Universidad de Concepción on 2007. She is part of LATAM Barrick Exploration Team, working from 2009 to 2015 doing field mapping, core logging and geological interpretation mainly on HS Epithermal Au-Ag deposits of the Chilean and Argentinean Andes.

She enrolled UWA on June, 2015 in order to pursue a PhD degree. Her project “Structural Evolution of the El Indio Belt, Chile – Argentina” is sponsored and supported by Barrick.

The project aims at identifying the fundamental controls on the location and formation of the giant high-sulfidation epithermal gold deposits in the Au rich El Indio Belt, which include Pascua-Lama, El Indio, Alturas and Veladero HS epithermal deposits. It studies the link between the belt´s fundamental structural architecture and the geodynamic events that triggered the formation of the Au deposits. This project will also provide a case study on the Mineral System concept.
