Dennis finished his Bachelor in Geology at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2014. His bachelor thesis topic was geochemistry analysis of granitoids in Bangka Island, Indonesia with their implication towards the tectonic evolution of Bangka Island. Looking for experience studying outside Indonesia, Dennis started his Master's degree by coursework and thesis at the University of Western Australia on 2015. In between, Dennis did a short working project in limestone exploration project at Paser, Kalimantan for LAPI-ITB as wellsite geologist for several months while waiting to enrol at UWA. During his second year of MSc in Australia, Dennis had a fateful meeting with Crystal LaFlamme and Nicolas Thebaud from CET and started a new project "Sulfur Isotope Analysis at Archean Gold Deposits in Agnew Camp, Yilgarn Craton". This project involves both δ34S and Δ33S analysis to decipher the evolution and possible source of sulfur within an Orogenic gold deposit. Detailed mineralogy and sulfur isotope analysis using SIMS makes it possible to trace the changes of both δ34S and Δ33S as orogenic gold deposit envolves. These sulfur isotope changes can be linked to the redox and temperature changes within the deposit.

After finishing his MSc with distinction at UWA in 2017, Dennis continued working with sulfur isotopes at the  CET as a Ph.D. candidate funded by Northern Star (Kanowna) Pty Ltd and SIRF scholarship from UWA. Supervised by Crystal LaFlamme, Nicolas Thebaud, and Marco Fiorentini, Dennis will apply comprehensive sulfur isotope analysis and other different geochemistry analysis in investigating the fluid evolution  and formation of Kanowna Belle deposit in Kalgoorlie, WA. The complete geochemistry analysis will also integrate alteration zones, structural geology and deposit geology to explain the fluid evolution in a spatial and temporal context leading to gold precipitation. His research will also involve further investigation into the link between sulfur isotope variation and thermodynamics and chemical changes
