The PhD project involves investigations of the large-scale lithospheric controls on crustal evolution and gold mineralization in the Paleoproterozoic Granites-Tanami Orogen of central Australia. The research employs stable and radiogenic isotope tracers in igneous rocks to map the age and nature of the lithosphere across the Granites-Tanami Orogen. Such information would be integrated with structural and fluid flow studies and with geophysical modeling being undertaken by other PhD candidates at CET, to understand the distribution of gold deposits in the region.

The supervisors are Dr Tony Kemp, Prof. Leon Bagas and Prof Cam McCuaig.

Funding: Scholarship for International Research Fees (SIRF) and University International Stipend (UIS).
