About
Jonathan completed his Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology at the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter, UK in 2017. His thesis project was a three-month mapping project covering the Akamas Ophiolite, NW Cyprus. Jonathan completed a Master of Science in Applied Environmental Geology at Cardiff University in 2018, which included a research placement at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Perth, WA. His thesis publication was on differentiating domains for CO2 sequestration and integration of geochemistry, spectral mineralogy, facies modelling. Jonathan has worked in WA and NT as a geologist and hydrogeologist, leading teams and managing projects varying from multi-million-dollar drilling programmes to small-scale mapping/reconnaissance projects across regional WA/NT. He has a strong interest in structural geology and mine planning.
PhD Project
Jonathan has joined the ARC Centre in Critical Resources for the Future (CCRF) at the University of Western Australia as a PhD candidate. His studies are in collaboration with Dreadnought Resources Ltd, where he worked prior to his PhD. The research investigates the rare earth element (REE) and niobium (Nb) deposits within the Upper Gascoyne, WA and the Aileron Province. The specific focus is on mineral processing and understanding ranking and prioritisation factors, which are broader than simply grade and depth to orebody.
