About

Michel Nzikou is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Exploration Targeting, School of Earth Sciences at The University of Western Australia.

Previously, he worked as a Geophysics for Epiroc for 2 years dealing with downhole logging data. He completed his PhD in 2019 in Exploration Geophysics, at Curtin University, Perth, WA. where his research topic was “Forward Modelling and Inversion of the Ultrasonic Wave Propagation Through a Homogeneous and Porous Rock” a 3D modelling project where was investigating the petrophysical parameters such as Vp, Vs, and its attenuation factors.

His scientific interests span across 3D modelling studies, Machine and Deep Learning applications into geodata, the integration of geology and geophysics in 2 and 3D (the Loop project), and currently developing graphical user interface plugins into qgis for the loop software.
