About

Nicolas was born in Bogota, Colombia, where he grew up and then studied his bachelor in Geosciences at los Andes University. He was awarded a scholarship to study a Master’s degree at the University Bern, living next to the swiss alps. His MSc. project focused on applying SWIR spectroscopy and mineral chemistry to a VMS deposit in Oman ophiolite in order to find possible fluid pathways and mineralisation zones. In 2020 he started my PhD at the CET working with Nico Thébaud, Steffen Hagemann and Quentin Masurel on understanding the controls of the early architecture on the formation of orogenic gold deposits using the Mungari deposits as natural laboratory.

PhD Project
