About

Nuwan graduated in 2009 with a B. Sc (Hon) degree in Applied Sciences from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. After his graduation, he joined the Geothermal Resource research group at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Sri Lanka, with expertise in Magnetotellurics and Transient Electromagnetic exploration.
In 2012 he was awarded a fellowship for advanced training on geophysical exploration at United Nations University, Iceland. In 2017, he obtained his M.Phil. degree for his thesis titled ” Mapping geothermal resources in Sri Lanka: Combined use of Magnetotellurics and Transient Electromagnetic method from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka”. In 2014 he joined with National Aquatic Resources Research & Development Agency (NARA) and extended his works expertise in offshore geophysical exploration. Again he (2017) joined back to NIFS Earth Resources and Renewable Energy research group.
He started his PhD studies in 2019 at CET-UWA and working to integrate Magnetotellurics and passive seismic data to characterise the cover basement interface.
