About
I’m a geoscientist with a background in volcanology, petrology and geochemistry, and a passion for hiking active volcanoes. I completed my PhD at Macquarie University in collaboration with the Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where I studied active volcanoes on the island of Montserrat (Caribbean), the Auckland Volcanic Field (New Zealand), and West Java (Indonesia) using petrology and diffusion-based numerical modelling. After moving to Western Australia, I wanted to challenge myself by applying the same microscale processes and analytical approaches to mineral exploration. That journey led me into the exciting world of critical minerals, where I’ve spent the past three years at CSIRO investigating lithium pegmatites not limited to Australia, including projects in the Pilbara, Victoria, Angola and India, while developing innovative exploration tools through collaborative research with industry and government. I’m excited to be joining UWA, where I’ll continue my research on critical mineral systems, combining field geology with mineral chemistry and geochemistry to better understand how these deposits form and develop new exploration approaches. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, exchanging ideas, and collaborating on exciting new research.
