About

Lauri is a 2018 Master’s graduate from Oulu Mining School (University of Oulu – Finland). He soaked in the broad geological currilucum offered by the univeristy by studying pegmatities and their economic potential during his bachelors, later diving into copper dominated VMS deposits by producing a 3D-model of the historical Virtasalmi Cu-deposit (Outokumpu district – Eastern Finland) as part of his master’s thesis. During his studies Lauri worked in Norther Sweden seeking polymetallic deposits for Boliden Minerals AB as part of their greenfield exploration department. After graduation, Lauri joined a brown field exploration team seeking resource additions to the Björkdal gold mine (Mandalay Resources) which is a orogenic gold deposit located in the Skellefteå mining district. In 2020 Lauri changed paleoproterozoic volcanoclastic rocks to their archean counter parts as he moved to Australia where he briefly worked on the world class Sunrise dam gold mine marveling the immense structural complexity produced by fluid over pressure driven deformation. Structural geology won’t leave Lauri alone as his PhD project revolves around the control of the ultra-high grade quartz veins Beta-Hunt mine.
