The Centre for Exploration Targeting and Curtin University will run a one-day short course on Porphyry Cu-Au deposits and critical magmatic-hydrothermal processes.
The short course will see a mixture of talks on: (1) case studies of porphyry copper-gold deposits and (2) magmatic-hydrothermal processes that were crucial in the formation of a giant porphyry copper-gold system. During the afternoon there will be a one-on-one debate on the hotly debated porphyry fertility indicators. A panel will discuss the topic “What makes high grade porphyry systems”.
A sundowner back at the CET- Robert Street Building Courtyard will be organised to give the students the opportunity to mingle with the industry geologists.
